It dates back to 1979 when we started Khodiyar Products with brand name of ‘TAJ’, engaged in manufacturing Tyre-Tube valves to cater to specific requirements of an ever-increasing spectrum of industries. Since then we are able to successfully maintain the traditional craftsmanship combined with the speed and precision of modern technology.

As an ISO 9001 certified company; we are committed to quality and perfection. To maintain this we strictly follow quality checks at every stage of the manufacturing process, in order to adhere to international quality standards. In fact this starts right form an exacting check on the raw material as per customer requirement and is maintained throughout the process.

Our fully automated production plant is engineered to respond to customers varied demands. Today we have a daily capacity for seven different products, with a total production of 90000 to 100000 pieces per day, which entail 4000 to 40000 pieces of each product. Our product having different categories of valves ranging from Bicycles valves to trucks valves.

Over the past 25 years we have been mastering the art of engineering excellence, backed by our committed and skilled workforce who believe in that perfection, which is the key to our success story. And more than that, with our well conceived strategies and clearly defined objectives, we at Khodiyar Products, are set to greet the challenges of future customer demands.

1994 - We have started manufacturing Natural rubber Inner Tubes at our Ankleshwar Plant in Gujarat state
1995 - For better Brass characteristics, company has started in house casting division with latest furnace machinery.
1997 - Company has increase their production capacity by developingnew automized machines
1998 - To fulfill market demand of rubber base valves, company initiated their new plant with wide area and modern infrastructure
2000 - Company has started Tubeless Valves manufacturing to fulfill the Indian and Overseas demand
2002 - Company expanding it wings from domestic market to export market mainly concentrated on Europe, American & Asian market
2004 - Company adopted the quality management system for better quality production and work culture and get ISO 9001:2000 certificate by TUV Suddeutschland, Germany
2004 - We have started manufacturing synthetic (Butyl) rubber base valves to fulfill the market demand with all range of valves.
2007 - Company has increase their production capacity by developing new PLC Based rubber moulding presses and other related machines.

The In House latest measuring & testing Facality invented and implemented at various stages of production line. Having a sophisticated tool room facality having;

Measuring Instruments - Profile Projector, Guages, Verniers & Micrometers
Testing Equipment - Hardness Tester, UTM for rupture / Pullout testing.

A tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is an electronic system to monitor the air pressure inside a pneumatic tire.

One of the most speedy mounting pressure sensor applications is tire pressure monitoring. The basic system simply points to to the driver the need to check tire pressure. The Schrader valve is a valve stem invented by August Schrader and is used on virtually all automobile tires and wider rimmed (lower pressure) bicycle tires.

It is a poppet valve assisted by a spring. Schrader valves are also used on the fuel rail of some direct fuel injection engines and on some automotive air conditioning systems, in a diameter larger than those used on tires, to allow recharging with refrigerant. In addition, Schrader valves are sometimes used on irrigation systems to provide a place to temporarily attach a portable pressure gauge.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

	As part of the effort to increase awareness of the need to maintain proper tire pressure, the U.S. government has taken steps to make it easier for drivers to be aware of potentially unsafe low pressure in their tires. As of the 2008 model year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) now requires that all passenger cars and light trucks feature the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). In conjunction with the new requirements, the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers (AAM) has initiated a consumer safety campaign focusing on the importance of maintaining proper tire pressure. As part of this campaign, the Alliance has launched the website www.checkmytires.com, which features resources to increase understanding of TPMS and the need to maintain proper tire pressure. TPMS is an automated system that monitors the air pressure in a vehicle's tires. When air pressure in one or more tires drops 25 percent or more below the correct pressure, a warning indicator alerts the driver. TPMS typically delivers these alerts to the driver through one of two types of warning lights on the dashboard.

		1. The first uses the official TPMS symbol, which is a cross-section of a tire with an exclamation mark in the center.

		2. The second is a top-view graphic image of a car that indicates which tires are low.

	Tire pressure is monitored through one of two methods: direct or indirect. Direct TPMS monitors the actual air pressure inside each tire via a sensor mounted within the tire. Indirect TPMS measures tire pressure by monitoring the speed and rotation of each individual wheel. When a significant variation in speed and rotation is detected in one or more wheels when compared with the others, it is often an indication of underinflation. This information is then transmitted to the vehicle's on-board computer, and the driver is alerted.



	However, while TPMS systems offer increased safety to drivers through low pressure warnings, they are not meant to be a substitute for proper tire pressure maintenance. Both the NHTSA and the AAM urge drivers to check their tire pressure at least once a month and always prior to a long trip. In addition to making drivers aware of the new standard for TPMS, the "Check My Tires" website also offers a "how to" list for proper tire inflation, explanations of the various reasons why correct tire pressure is important, and links to a number of safety-related resources. Be sure to read our article on the importance of correct air pressure as well for even more in-depth information. Even though TPMS has only recently become standard for all vehicles, a number of older models already have them installed. Approximately 20 percent of 2006 vehicle models came pre-equipped with TPMS, and that number increased to 70 percent in the 2007 model year. Bicycle Tire Timeline
1790	The first basic bicycle, the ‘Celerifere’, runs on tires made of wood. Frenchman Comte Mede de Sivrac invents the Celerifere or the ‘Hobbyhorse’ which has two wheels but no steering or pedals and has to be moved around by pushing with the feet against the ground.
1817	German Baron, Karl Drais makes the “Laufmaschine” completely from wood. Called the ‘Draisienne’, this two-wheeled machine runs on wooden tires too.
1844	Charles Goodyear invents vulcanized rubber that would soon revolutionize the history of the bicycle tire. Goodyear’s invention lays the foundation for cured rubber tires.
1845	Engineer Robert W. Thompson, of England patents the pneumatic or inflatable tire. The tire consists of a canvas inner tube enclosed by a leather outer tire. He called it the Aerial Wheel. Though the tire resulted in a good ride, it was not commercially successful and the invention went undeveloped.
1866	Metal tires replace wooden bicycle tires in Pierre Lallement’s model called the ‘Velocipede’. This two-wheel machine had pedals on the front wheel and was given the name ‘boneshaker’ in the U.S., because of its rough ride.
1869	A Frenchman, Eugene Meyer, invents the wire-spoke tension wheel and produces a beautifully designed high wheel bicycle, with a small rear wheel and a large front wheel.The same year, William Van Anden obtains the first freewheel patent.
1870	In England, an Engineer named James Starley develops the ‘Penny Farthing’, the high-wheeler of Britain, named after the large and small coins in the currency. The bicycle ran on solid rubber tires mounted on steel rims. Called the ‘Ariel’, the bicycle was made of metal and had wheels with tangent wire spokes.
1874	James Starley is awarded a patent for tangent spokes.
1876	Browett and Harrison patent an early caliper brake.
1879	Henry Lawson adds a rear-chain-drive mechanism to the penny farthing bicycle calling it ‘bicyclette’. Called ‘The Crocodile’ by critics Lawson’s model fails to succeed in the market.
1882	Thomas B. Jeffery, a bicycle manufacturer and inventor, gets the patent for the precursor of clincher tires.
1885	John Kemp Starley, nephew of James Starley, designs the first successful ‘safety bicycle’ with equal-sized wheels and a chain drive to the rear wheel. This is the first modern age bicycle with two-equal sized wheels that entirely replaced the penny farthings. In spite of the model being successful, J. K. Starley did not patent his design.
1887	John Boyd Dunlop, a Scottish veterinarian, develops the first pneumatic bicycle tire (filled with air) for his son’s tricycle. Dunlop’s tire for which he was awarded a patent in 1888 has a leather hosepipe serving as the inner tube and outer rubber tire with treads. His invention brings the era of hard rubber-tired bicycles to an end and steers the way for smooth bicycle rides. It won’t be long before rubber inner tubes are invented.
1893	August Schrader and his son George Schrader invent an improved version of valve to keep the air in the tire. Schrader valves are still popularly used in bicycle tires.
1896	E.H. Hodgkinson patents a 3-speed gradient gear, a pre-cursor of the modern derailleur.
1911	Philip Strauss invents the combination tire of air-filled inner rubber tube and outer rubber tire.
1930s	Multi-ratio gearing systems are introduced in racing bicycles.
1933	German builder Ignaz Schwinn who emigrated to the U.S. and founded his bicycle company in 1895 introduces the balloon tire (widened tire), that will be a trendsetter for rugged bikes for the next 40 years.
1950s	Derailleur systems evolve.
1962	England saw the emergence of usage of small custom tires for a model bicycle called ‘The Moulton’.
1978	Launch of the first high-quality foldable clincher tire called the Turbo.
Bicycle tire - today	The modern age bicycle tires were in use from the 1970’s though there were continual improvements in design and construction, largely to enhance efficiency. Racing and touring bicycles use narrow high-pressure tires, while all terrain and mountain cycles are fitted with broader waffle-tread tires. The modern tires are designed with a lot of emphasis on aero dynamism with light weight and specialized materials to ensure efficiency and minimal road resistance.

The first practical pneumatic tire was made by the Scot John Boyd Dunlop for his son's bicycle, in an effort to prevent the headaches his son had while riding on rough roads (Dunlop's patent was later declared invalid because of prior art by fellow Scot Robert William Thomson). The pneumatic tire also has the more important effect of vastly reducing rolling resistance compared to a solid tire. Because the internal air pressure acts in all directions, a pneumatic tire is able to "absorb" bumps in the road as it rolls over them without experiencing a reaction force opposite to the direction of travel, as is the case with a solid (or foam-filled) tire. The difference between the rolling resistance of a pneumatic and solid tire is easily felt when propelling wheelchairs or baby buggies fitted with either type so long as the terrain has a significant roughness in relation to the wheel diameter.

Pneumatic tires are made of a flexible elastomer material such as rubber with reinforcing materials such as fabric and wire. Tire companies were first started in the early 20th century, and grew in tandem with the auto industry. Today over 1 billion tires are produced annually, in over 400 tire factories, with the three top tire makers commanding a 60% global market share.
